Seeking a qualified candidate for the position of full time Environmental Health RS or SIT. Applicants must have a minimum of Bachelor’s degree with at least 45 quarter or 30 semester hours in science courses acceptable by the State Board of Sanitarian Registration. SIT Candidates must show proof of graduation and application to the State Board of Sanitarian Registration. Candidates must hold a valid Ohio Drivers license. The successful candidate will work in many if not all of the health district’s environmental health programs as a generalist. Duties may include, but not limited to inspection and consultation in the areas of: food protection, private water systems, household sewage disposal, public swimming pools and spas, nuisances, mobile home parks, campgrounds, rabies, schools, and solid waste. The Pickaway County General Health District is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time/full time Director of Environmental Health. Candidate must be a registered sanitarian in the state of Ohio and in good standing with a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Candidate must also possess a dependable vehicle to use when company vehicle is not available. Supervisory experience in a local health district preferred. Candidate must have the ability to manage environmental health programs including but not limited to: food service, private water systems, sewage, and other environmental health programs; must be able to direct assigned staff, and ensure compliance with established federal, state, and local standards. Candidate must be able to perform the cost methodology for the state mandated programs. Candidate will be expected to also perform work as a field sanitarian. May be required to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays or on-call and will travel within and outside the county.
